The cable that came with the car plugs into a normal powerpoint. It works. Just slowly.
Some nights it doesn't get you full. And a normal powerpoint was never made to run flat out for 12 hours, night after night.
A proper wall charger fixes that. But it has to go in right, on a board that can take it.
What happens if you leave it
- You run on a half charge, or pay more at public fast chargers.
- A powerpoint and lead pushed hard every night can run hot.
- A charger put on an old board can trip the house when the oven and air con are on.

FAQs
Do I need a switchboard upgrade for an EV charger?
Sometimes. If your board is old, full or has no safety switches, it may need work first. Send me a photo and I'll tell you straight.
Single phase or three phase?
Most Adelaide homes are single phase. The Evnex E2 range charges at up to 7.4 kW on single phase. Three phase homes can go faster with the Evnex X22.
Can it charge from my solar panels?
Yes. Evnex chargers can be set to use your spare solar first, so you charge from the sun instead of the grid.
Can you install a charger I already bought?
Yes. Tell me the brand and model and I'll give you a fixed price to install it.
Do I get paperwork?
Yes. A certificate of compliance for the electrical work.
