RENOVATIONS & BUILDS

Renovation and extension electrician in Adelaide.

Your lights, switches and power planned with you. Before a single wall is closed.

★★★★★
Dave did all the electrical work on our reno in Glenelg and was great to deal with from start to finish. Knows his stuff and just gets the job done without any BS. Have passed his number on to many mates. Strongly recommend.
Jack Butler, Glenelg

You'll live with these choices for 20 years. Most get made in 20 minutes.

In a reno, the electrical gets rushed. The sparky asks "where do you want the powerpoints?" while the framers are waiting.

You guess. Then you move in.

The bedside lamp has no powerpoint. The island has no power for the kettle. The hallway light switch is at the wrong end.

What happens if you leave it

  • Fixing it after plaster means cutting, patching and repainting.
  • Old wiring left in place can fail inside your brand new walls.
  • The extension needs power the old switchboard may not handle.

How I do it

  1. 01

    Design walkthrough.

We walk each room and talk about how you'll live in it. Lighting, power, switching, data, outdoor.

  2. 02

    Written scope.

Every point listed. One price. Variations only with your OK.

  3. 03

    Check the old house.

I test the existing wiring and switchboard so there are no surprises.

  4. 04

    Rough-in before plaster.

On the date your builder needs.

  5. 05

    Fit-off and handover.

Everything tested, walked through, paperwork in your hand.

The promise

The Porter Project Promise: written scope first, variations approved upfront, design walkthrough before rough-in, handover walkthrough with paperwork.

My guarantee

You never pay twice for my work.

If I'm late without telling you, or my work isn't right, I come back and fix it at my cost.

FAQs

When should I bring you in?

At the plan stage. It's free to move a light on paper.

Will my switchboard need an upgrade?

Often, if you're adding a kitchen, air con or an extension. I'll check and tell you early.

Can I live in the house during the reno?

Usually. I plan power shutdowns and tell you ahead.

Do you do kitchens and bathrooms only?

No. Anything from one room to the whole house.
